MedWire News: Cervical cancer could one day be effectively treated with fulvestrant and raloxifene, two drugs currently used to treat breast cancer and osteoporosis, show results of an animal study.
“We can’t be sure how the science will translate from animals to humans, but we have faith in our mouse model. There are many similarities in how cervical cancer develops and manifests itself in women and mice,” said lead study author Paul Lambert (University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, USA).
